Daystar Incorporated, a Christian Science Nursing Facility located in the Fort Lauderdale Metro Area, Florida, is looking for an Executive Director. The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the facility, with a focus on providing spiritual and practical care rooted in Christian Science principles and dedicated to the highest standards of Christian Science Nursing.
The Executive Director ensures that the planning, organization, direction, and evaluation of services provided are consistent with the by-laws and mission of Daystar.
The Executive Director will work closely with the Director of Christian Science Nursing in providing a loving atmosphere focused on healing. Applicants should have experience with management. Qualities of strong leadership and community outreach, good communication and organizational skills, and a metaphysical approach are desired. JOB TITLE: Accounting Manager
Reports to: CEO/Executive Director
JOB SUMMARY
We are a non-profit seeking a highly motivated, skilled, collaborative and detail-oriented individual to manage the financial activities of our organization. Our ideal candidate will maintain accurate financial records and timely preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets and reporting for the organization; and ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare/analyze financial statements, budgets and reports for the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Monitor cash flow and manage the organization’s banking relationships.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial audits and tax filings.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Track grant funding and ensure grant funds are used appropriately.
- Identify and implement improvements for organizational financial efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the CEO and team to align and support implementation of the strategic plan.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or an MBA desired.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation a plus.
- At least five years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least two years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Experience with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders who may not have a financial background.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and easily adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
- Passion for the organization mission and values with a commitment to deliver.
- Willing to assist with tasks outside of primary role, as needed.
- An active student of Christian Science preferred, not required.

By helping the executive director keep the documentation up to date, and receiving visitors and callers at the front desk, you’ll be a key contributor to the success of Lynn House’s mission to support healing through Christian Science. Being available and responsive to phone calls is the first step to supporting our community. Donations are a vital portion of the revenue stream at Lynn House. Documenting the activity of a business is a key component to proving to regulatory agencies that a business is operating as it should. This could be a part- or full-time position, but needs to be on-site. Although this is a desk job, we expect you to be ready to express the Christian Science nursing qualities of being “cheerful, orderly, punctual, patient, full of faith, — receptive to Truth and Love.”
