Christian Scientists who need an environment compatible with their desire to be healed spiritually  find the  quiet surroundings conducive to study and prayer at Morning Light Lodge. Located in northwest metro Atlanta, the Lodge  is specifically designed to serve the five state area of Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and the Carolinas.  It is a place where Christian Science is demonstrated and healing is expected. This work is supported by dedicated Christian Science practitioners.

Morning Light Lodge provides:

  • Private bath facilities for each room
  • Private patios with restful views of the surrounding woods, accessible through French doors
  • Meals served in an open, inviting dining room or outside on a screened porch
  • A quiet area where guests may study the Bible, the works of Mary Baker Eddy, and other authorized Christian Science literature
  • A public living room with a fireplace and comfortable seating where guests may receive visitors

The Lodge staff helps individuals transition back home or into their next step if continued care is needed. This could mean in-home care with the help of the Visiting Christian Science Nursing Service, or the next step may be investigating possible assisted living accommodations. Community resources that will help the individual and that will encourage normal activity are also sought.

All inquiries about Morning Light Lodge are handled through the Visiting Christian Science Nursing Service. You are welcome to schedule an appointment to tour the facility.

Visiting Christian Science Nursing Service

Most people desire to be in a familiar setting and prefer to have nursing care in their own home whenever possible. The Visiting Christian Science Nursing Service meets this need. A Christian Science nurse makes a visit to assess the situation, provide immediate care, and work with the individual and/or family to determine ongoing needs. In-home visits of one or two hours in duration are an opportunity for the Christian Science nurse to provide skilled care and support the individual in his reliance on God for healing.

Morning Light provides:

  • general bedside care
  • bathing and assisting with personal cleanliness
  • cleaning and dressing of wounds
  • nail care (hands and feet)
  • food preparation and feeding
  • infant and new mother care
  • instruction on patient care for family
  • reading aloud
  • temporary loan of nursing equipment
  • assistance in securing private duty Christian Science nursing
